Carnival, a massive block party with costumes, folklore, and lots of dancing, is celebrated in most Latin American countries. It’s an opportunity to eat, laugh, and be merry before the seriousness of Lenten season. And like most parts of our culture, carnivals are a mix of traditions from all over.
