Everyone has heard of Mexico’s beloved and feisty Chihuahua. But Chis aren’t the only adorable Latin American dogs. Check out these Instagram-famous pooches!

Xoloitzcuintli were named by the Aztecs for Xolotl, the god of fire and lightning. Yet these pups are known for their calm vibes, as well as their near hairlessness. Find them on Insta with hashtags like #XoloDogs, or follow this handsome guy @simon.xolo.

Dogo Argentinos are tough-looking dogs that have been around for 100 years. Originally bred as pack hunters for big game, these loyal dogs are known for their short white coats. @dogoargentino.us is one of several accounts that collects pics of these powerful doggos.

Havanese like @the.wizbiz are a native Cuban breed. These little guys sport their signature silky coats and are very affectionate. Despite their small size, they’re confident and are not as “barky” as other small breeds (no shade to the #chihuahuas_of_instagram).
